Refurbishment of 89 Bedrooms & Suites | Mayfair, London
Client: VMA Services
Torc was appointed to support the extensive refurbishment of this iconic Mayfair hotel, delivering a suite of interior works that demanded precision, discretion, and a deep respect for the building’s heritage. The project covered all 89 bedrooms and suites, as well as selected public areas, bringing the spaces up to modern luxury standards while retaining the character for which DUKES is known.
Torc’s Contribution
Torc delivered a fully coordinated package across drylining, decorative finishes and specialist fibrous elements. Working within a live hotel environment and a highly detailed design specification, our team focused on accuracy, consistency, and seamless integration with the broader programme.
Drylining (Siniat Systems)
We installed a complete Siniat drylining solution across all refurbished rooms, ensuring clean lines, strong acoustic performance, and robust substrate conditions for final finishes. The work required tight tolerances and consistent quality across dozens of rooms with different configurations.
Decoration
Our finishing teams completed the decorative package, balancing heritage detailing with a modern, calm aesthetic. Every room required a controlled, repeatable standard while still respecting the quirks of the existing structure and layout.
Fibrous Coving
We installed new fibrous coving throughout, reinstating traditional detailing that ties the refurbishment back to the building’s architectural character. Each section was carefully measured, shaped, and installed to sit naturally within the refurbished rooms.
Torc’s role reinforced the client’s aim: to elevate the guest experience through refined, durable interior craftsmanship delivered on a controlled, coordinated programme.
