7-Acre Mixed-Use Development | 475 Residential Units Across 33 Buildings

Torc was appointed to support the delivery of Wickside, a significant new development in Hackney Wick spanning 7 acres and comprising 475 residential units, a series of mixed-use buildings, public realm enhancements, and waterside spaces. With multiple building types, varying structural forms and a high-density layout, the project required coordinated delivery across numerous blocks operating simultaneously.
Torc’s Contribution
Torc delivered a comprehensive interior and structural-support package across drylining, SFS infill, rendering and fire protection. The scale of the project demanded strong sequencing, adaptability, and consistent quality across dozens of buildings at different stages of construction.
Drylining (Siniat)
We installed Siniat drylining systems throughout residential units, amenity areas and circulation spaces. The focus was on delivering acoustic performance, fire integrity, and a clean substrate for final finishes across a broad mix of apartment layouts and block types.
SFS Infill (Frameclad)
Torc installed Frameclad SFS infill systems to form external walls and structural openings. This included integrating new elements into various primary structures, ensuring stability, airtightness, and alignment with façade interfaces throughout the development.
Rendering (Weber)
We applied Weber render systems to selected external elevations, delivering a durable façade solution with clean, consistent visual output. The rendering was part of a broader architectural approach to blend industrial character with contemporary design.
Beam Encasements (Promat)
Promat systems were installed to encase exposed steelwork throughout the development. Each section was fitted to maintain fire protection requirements and achieve continuity with internal build-ups.
Torc’s coordinated package supported the broader delivery of a large, multi-phase development, maintaining consistent standards while working across numerous buildings and construction sequences.
